Pilixo Remote Support is a one time remote desktop connection solution designed for single use without installing a permanent installation on a target device. Remote support is Pilixo's attended remote control solution. Imagine a user in the field is having a technical issue on their computer that you currently do not have access. As a Pilixo admin, you can create a Remote Support session and provide the user with a package to run on their computer and connect remotely in seconds.
Start a Remote Support connection
- Log into the Pilixo web portal using a supported browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera).
- Navigate to the Remote Access > Remote Support page.
- Click the 'Start' button.
- Enter a Remote Support session name, for example 'Assist'. Click Next.
- Select the platform of the remote device, Windows or Mac. Click Next.
- Select the method to provide the user access to download the Remote Support package:
- Pin Code - Pin code can be entered at https://assist.pilixo.com
- Copy Link - URL for package will be copied to your clipboard
- Send by Email - Default email client will be opened with a email including URL to package
- Click Finish.
- Your client browser instance will be waiting for the user device connection.
- Instruct the user to download and run the Remote Support package created from wizard.
- User executes package and connects back to your client browser instance.
- Remote Support connection begins and you are able to control the remote machine.
- The Remote Support session runs in the context of the user's permission level. To elevate to administrator user permissions, click the Elevate button and enter administrator credentials. Instruct the remote user to accept the UAC prompt for elevation process to complete. At this point the admin can control the remote endpoint as an administrative user and interact with UAC controls on the remote device.
- When ready to end the remote session, the user can click the End button, or the Pilixo admin can close the client browser window.
- The Remote Support processes end on the remote computer and a recap of the session with your organization name, Pilixo admin name and duration of connection is displayed to the remote user.
- It is not possible to reuse the Remote Support package, to reconnect the process above must be completed again.
